Happy new year!
I want to take the opportunity to thank all the readers of tralee.org and of this blog for their interest and contributions in the pages and to wish them and everybody a happy new year 2009! It is almost certainly going to be a challenging year for quite a lot of people around the world, but hopefully it will be a good and healthy year for many.
For the people of Tralee the new year holds a very special treat: in august the Rose of Tralee will see it’s 50th anniversary and this has to be the highlight of the whole year 2009. For this special occasion Tralee partners with the german town of Frankfurt-Hoechst, which might be a particularly good idea given the daily flight from Kerry airport to Frankfurt/Hahn. So I’m pretty sure that there will be many people from Germany among the visitors of what could turn out to be Ireland’s greatest festival 2009. We (and I’m sure I can speak on behalf of all the Kerry people) are looking forward to see you all in Tralee this summer!
But there may even be more in store for the new year: with some luck we will see the second annual Kerry Bicycle Festival sometime in April, and for the inaugural event was my favourite party last year you can be pretty sure to see me there again. And then we will of course have the Samhlaiocht Kerry Film Festival and many smaller, but definitely quite interesting events. However, not all is good news for the new year: in 2009 we will no longer be able to enjoy the Races at Ballybeggan Park. The site is now sold and 2009 may bring the start of the development of a new GAA stadium at the now former racecourse.I’m sure there are many more news to come. I will try my best to keep you updated.
Best regards to all readers,
Holger Lorenz

Hi.
I have created a link to your Tralee Website, which I think is fantastic, on the following site
http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=eb29e16f-d385-4b91-9f5e-748e2c2c8efb.
A lot of Germans follow sport of Geocaching and your site is perfect. If you would prefer I can delete this link. Let me know if this is the case.
Thanking you.
