What I found today has not really much to do with Tralee, or has it? One of Kerry’s County Councillors (Breandan MacGearailt) is cited by Radio Kerry with the following disturbing quote: [»]

Today there is obviously still some work to do at ice rink specially prepared for the “Tralee on Ice” venue on the aquadoma-carpark. But it looks like the really big tent will be finished just in time for the opening next saturday, december 1st.  The skating rink will then be open till january 6th, 2008. Although I do agree with the road safety experts that the biggest risk factor for traffic accidents is usually the guy sitting in front of the steering wheel I am also quite sure that sometimes the road planning (and building) people too have to take their share of the responsibility when disaster strikes. The redevelopment of Tralee Town Park is well under way this autumn, and just a few days ago the new playground area has finally been opened. But because many kids didn’t want to wait for the official opening one could watch happy children busy playing with the shiny new swings, climbing frames  and all the other big toys over the past weekends. The kids seem to enjoy their new playground and so do the parents.
